Cheese and beef dripping dog biscuits
My first attempt at a homemade dog biscuit recipe.
Well I’m attempting to do some homemade cooking again. Crumbs…..scary stuff, stand back!!
I wanted to make a simple, cheap to make biscuit and I’ve been checking out dog biscuit recipes online. They vary so much and it’s difficult to find a similar theme with many looking like they are being cooked for humans rather than dogs. Anyway, I’ve got some flour and I went for the wholemeal flour and instead of margarine I thought I go for beef dripping as a substitute which I’m hoping will add a nice flavouring to the biscuits. I also bought some cheese and eggs so will add that and hope it all works out. Ok, lets do this!

- Our ingedients
- 300g of flour
- 2 egg yolks
- 150g of cheese
- 250g of beef dripping
- Soften beef dripping in microwave for 10 to 20 secs at a time.
- Right, it’s soft enough now so I’ll chop it up a bit more.
- I’ve put the dripping into a jug an smashed it up with a wooden spoon.
- Add the two yolks to the mix
- Mix it all together
- Add 300g of flour and 1/4 cup of water.
- Grate 150g of cheese and add to flour/dripping mix
- Create a large dough ball
- Flatten out to the thickness you want your biscuits
- Get a biscuit cutter
- Cut out as many biscuits as you can
- Place biscuits on tray and preheat oven to 160c
- Place in oven for 45 mins
- They are now cooked! Mmmm, smell good too!
- Leave to cool for 30 mins
- Place one biscuit aside
- Give treat to dog!
