MAKE IN JUST 10 MINUTES

This tuna loaf dog treat recipe was given to me by Alison, the owner of Brodie and Harris!  It’s mysimplest homeade dog friendly recipes that is prepared and cooked within 10 minutes!  We’re gonna be using a 1.1L food storage container found in any supermarker to make this but you can use a large bowl and cover with a large plate.

INGREDIENTS

2 tins of tuna in oil or water, 2 eggs, 160g of flour (wholemeal or plain), 1 garlic clove or 1 small teaspoon of lazy garlic. But isn’t garlic bad for dogs?

METHOD

Have a taste test with the dog, fridge what you will use in a few days and freeze the rest.

How to store

As a general guide if meat protein is present in recipe then it will last around 3 to 5 days stored in a cool place.  If it has second class protein in it eg. cheese, lentils, eggs, etc, then they will store for about 10 days in a cool place. You can use cake tins lined with baking paper – greaseproof. If there is no meat or second class proteins present then it will last around 3 weeks before they go soft like human biscuits.

  2. Hi, made my first batch with gluten free flour adding extra water. Is it supposed to be rubbery ?

    • It’s prob the gluten-free flour doing that. I’ve never made it with that so I dont have first-hand experience.

    • Did the dog like it?

  3. Hi thank you for the tuna loaf recipe, would a gluten free flour produce the same type of of loaf? I have a dog with Mega oesophagus and can only tolerate moist treats and another dog on a gluten free diet.

Thank you in advance for your help ????

    • yeah but I think with gluten-free you may need a little more water in the mix, you’ll just have to try it.

  8. Since I lacked a bit of flour, I used half and reduced everything to half except for the clove I used, it was a bit small so I think it’s fine ^_^ They’re still cooking and I hope my 5 weeks would love it. He already loves tuna so this has to be something he should like <3

  9. Hi,
Can this be made in a loaf tin so it comes out more like a cake? I’d like to make it for my dog’s next birthday. Thanks.

    • I’m sure you can. I’ve never done it. Look at the liver cake recipe for a better idea how to do it, since its pretty much the same thing but using liver.
