MAKE IN JUST 10 MINUTES
This tuna cake for dogs recipe was given to me by Alison, the owner of Brodie and Harris! It’s the simplest of all my homemade dog food recipes that is prepared and cooked within 10 minutes! We’re gonna be using a 1.1L food storage container found in any supermarker to make this but you can use a large bowl and cover with a large plate.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 tins of tuna in oil or water
- 2 eggs
- 160g of flour (wholemeal or plain)
METHOD

Add 2 tins of tuna in oil (use the oil/water).

Add two eggs

Add 160g (5½ oz) of flour

Mix everything together to form a thick paste-like consistency.

Spread into a microwave-safe container. This is a typical 1.1L size available at every supermarket.
Or you can buy here.

Lay lid slightly ajar on top and cook for 4 minutes, rest for 1, then cook for another minute.

It’s very hot once cooked, so tap out of container and leave to cool.

Once cooled slice up

And put the treats in a container.

are these ok treat for puppys? any problem using tuna in brine thats all i have at the moment
Hi Craig. To be honest I’m not too sure if brine is ok or not. Brine is salty water and I’m not sure how dogs are with that extra salt. I’ve contacted my canine dietitian and hopefully she’ll reply soon, but for me, I’d just stick with the oily type.
This looks quite a wet treat which might make it difficult to use in training classes….is it?
This sounds perfect for my dog, thanks. I have a tin of pink salmon, can I substitute that for the tuna?
I don’t see why not! Give it a try and let me know how you get on!
oooh Poppy will love this recipe, thank you so much for sharing it xx
I used to buy canned food until my friend recommended me this resource. Since then I cook for my german shepperd myself.

can this be frozen and also how do you know how much you should feed?
Hi Niki! Yeah it can be frozen once it’s cooled down! Just feed as you would with any other treat!
