It’s been years since I’ve been at Mar Hall woods, which is on the same land as Mar hall hotel and golf course. Normally I go Erskine beach & Boden Boo with the dogs, which are close by. Mar hall has been on my mind lately so today I decided to take the lunchtime dogs a walk there. I couldn’t believe it when I turned up at the car park, and I was the only person there. I know the weather wasn’t that great, it was cold and had snowed through the night, but the sun was out.
So it was a simple plan for this walk… A trek through the woods, letting the dogs investigate and play, then onto the beach to clean them up and play in the water, then back through the woods and back to the van.
I’ve never been to the woods at Mar Hall in the winter, and soon I realised why the car park was empty. It’s so muddy, absolutely bogging, no wonder no one was there, but we had a nice time, and the dogs loved visiting somewhere new. I know when it dries out in spring and summer Mar Hall is heavily used, mainly by dog owners and dog walkers.
Anyway, we’re here now so let’s go!
It’s the start of the walk. I wonder why it’s so quiet?
Now I know why no one is here!!! Yuk
