Pup Visits for Hudson

Puppy Playtimes

Hudson is about 10 weeks old and he's a Red Fox Labrador. He lives with Sage (also a Red Fox Lab), and today I gave Hudson his first puppy visits—one before and one after walking Sage. While he's still going through his inoculations, it was garden play for the time being.

When I arrived, Hudson was in his pen and very excited to have company, so I took him out into his garden for some playtime. Even though the weather was rubbish and wet all day, it was only very light rain during the visit. There were some toys scattered around the garden, and the football—judging by the number of puppy teeth marks on it—was a clear favourite, along with a plastic bottle.

In 2012, the same owners brought home Beau, a black Labrador who sadly passed away earlier this year. I walked Beau her whole life, and when she was a puppy, I gave her visits too. It was lovely to see the parallels today—I got photos of Beau playing with an empty plastic bottle in her garden all those years ago, just like I was doing with Hudson today. You can see that puppy visit with Beau here.

From my first visit, Hudson seems to be doing brilliantly. He did his poo and pee in the garden, he already knows his sit, and he offered me his paw several times. He's a very sweet boy and quite a chunky lab—I suspect he'll grow up to be a solid big boy.

Some pics from my visit!
