Something’s in the Trees!

Dutch: "What's got Billy so spooked?"
Mac: "Can't say, Major. Been actin' squirrelly all morning."

Spooky walk at Finlaystone

Quite a busy walk at Finlaystone with 6 dogs on the walk. Wednesdays are always busy! It was nice and quiet though.

The walk started a bit weirdly with Rowan, the Springer Spaniel, getting spooked by something. I wondered if she might have been stung, but I'm not 100% sure what happened. She suddenly wanted to go home, but thankfully whatever it was soon wore off and she settled down and had a great time.

Then I started noticing that the dogs could definitely smell something. Something had been there, or perhaps was still there, and they could smell it. There were definitely areas where the scent seemed particularly strong and I wondered if we were going to discover what it was, but it never came to anything. Whatever it was had either left or was staying well out of sight.

Hamish was getting occasional wafts of something and looking straight up into the trees, while at other times several of the dogs were all looking in the same direction. It was all a bit strange, and I still have no idea what they had picked up!

Anyway, whatever it was didn't stop the dogs having a great time. Some pics from the walk...
