Walking Gilbert at the Riverfront

Lead walk at the river's edge

Gilbert is an 11-year-old black miniature schnauzer from Erskine, and this is the third time he's returned to BDWS. His owner is away, so Gilbert is staying with his owner's mother, and I get to walk him daily.

Today was the first walk of this visit, and since it was a warm Sunday lunchtime, I decided to give him a solo walk along the Erskine Riverfront Walkway. Gilbert usually joins my group walks—normally with the Finlaystone crew—but I thought a quiet one-to-one would be a nice way to start the week.

He's a lead-only dog, so I brought my extendable lead along, though I'm not sure he was entirely keen on it—maybe it was the constant tension on his collar that he wasn't used to. He seemed a bit unsure at first, but did seem to get used to it.

Gilbert is a dog who likes to take his time, stopping to sniff every scent along the way, so we had a very casual, relaxed walk.

Since I don't have many photos of Gilbert, I made sure to bring my camera along to capture some shots of him at the waterfront.

Some photos from the walk...
