An easy carrot cake recipe for dogs – Ideal as a birthday cake

Just for a bit of fun and I know there’s quite a few people that like baking birthday cakes for their dogs. Nothing fancy in this recipe, just a simple carrot cake using a few local ingredients found anywhere and easy to make. Dogs love it and for the icing, we are using cream cheese which dogs also love. Perfect for a good dog or a special occasion.

Another idea for a dog birthday cake is my recipe for liver cake and pupcakes.

For this recipe we’re gonna be using a 9″ cake tin, if you don’t have one you can get one here.

  • 170g (6oz) of wholemeal flour

How to store

As a general guide if meat protein is present in recipe then it will last around 3 to 5 days stored in a cool place.  If it has second class protein in it eg. cheese, lentils, eggs, etc, then they will store for about 10 days in a cool place. You can use cake tins lined with baking paper – greaseproof. If there is no meat or second class proteins present then it will last around 3 weeks before they go soft like human biscuits.
