Out early to beat the heat

Another scorcher at Boden Boo

With temperatures forecast to hit 27°C later today, myself and all the other dog walkers were out extra early. Everyone Boden Boo dog walker gets a little stressed when it's this hot—leave it too late and you're battling for a parking space, dodging BBQs, avoiding kids' groups and fishermen with their delicious bate. Early starts aren't just about the heat; they're about having the beach to ourselves.

We started our first walk just after 8:30am and already the temperature was nudging over 20°C—a proper summer’s day in the making.

We headed straight for Erskine Beach, and with the tide right in, it was perfect. On this beach walk we had my dogs, along with Bella, a young, bouncy working black Labrador who’s always up for a game and Elsa, the golden retriever. She's the oldest dog I walk, and the last of the O.G.'s—the first generation of dogs I walked. Elsa, like Bella, loves the ball and the water.

A gorgeous morning, a happy pack and a camera in hand—can’t ask for much more than that.

Here are some photos from the walk...

Elsa is now the oldest dog I walk. This is her with Nevis at Knockmountain, December 2013—a memory from the early days.
