Trying out a new place to walk
I've heard about this "Viewpoint" in Dargavel Village. Heard it's a good walk among dog owners I meet, but I've never known where it was—except that it was to the north of Dargavel and out in the countryside. But today I finally found it, so I thought I'd take Bracken there for his solo walk at 4pm.
Yesterday I ordered a new lens for my camera—slightly wide angle, similar to the focal length of a typical phone camera. It just so happened it arrived 30 minutes before I was due to walk Bracken, so I put it on the camera and took Bracken to the "View Point" to snap some pics of this walk I've heard about.
I'm not sure how long it is or if it does a loop, but after 35 minutes we had to turn back. I think it can go quite far, though. The actual viewpoint itself is really just minutes into the walk and it overlooks Dargavel, as you'd expect, but that's really just the start—the walk then takes you west of Dargavel among farm fields. On Google Maps, it's labelled as "The Woodland Path," which makes sense.
We met two other walkers during that hour, and one suggested the walk is a lot longer than what we managed to do today, so we'll have to come back and up our pace next time.
