A new park and walk in Dargavel Village

I walk 9-year-old Bracken every day in the late afternoons, and we’ve started exploring the new Central Park in Dargavel Village.

Spanning over 43 acres, the park offers almost 4km (2.5 miles) of smooth paths that wind through hundreds of new trees, wildflower meadows, open grassy areas, and plenty of greenery. There are benches, picnic spots, and two playparks at either end, but Bracken was far more interested in all the wonderful smells!

The park is also home several large ponds which were the highlight of our visit. We saw swans with their cygnets, ducks with ducklings, and a goose with her goslings. Bracken would have happily jumped in after them if he could!

It’s a really well-designed park and the perfect size for a relaxed afternoon dog walk. The smooth paths are great for kids on scooters too.

If you’re local and looking for a fresh dog walk with good scenery and wildlife, I’d definitely recommend Central Park.
