How to make liver cake
This liver cake recipe is very simple to make, cheap and the perfect cake for dogs. All supermarkets sell liver so it’s easy to find, Morrisons is probably your best bet and local butchers too but if you can’t get liver you can use other ingredients for your dog cake mix, like minced beef, kidney, heart, chicken livers or even tuna! Once cooked put what you won’t be using in the next couple of days in the freezer until needed. Defrosts in just minutes once out of the freezer. You can top with cream cheese if you want to add frosting. Alternatively, instead of using a cake tin try using a cupcake tray. Check out my pupcake recipe for details. Or for a different cake recipe, try my carrot cake recipe for dogs.
Liver cake is deal as a treat, a dog birthday cake, selling at fairs etc.

Hi there everyone I’m so pleased I’ve found this website as I have a 17yr old papillon who suffers with pancreatitis and bladder stones so I have to be Uber careful with what I can give him, he is on a vet recommended diet but treat wise he’s left really quite disappointed. So we are going to give the low fat banana biscuits ago but just looking at some of the other things on here does anyone have experience of a similar diet situation to ours who can advise those things that are ok and those that are absolutely no no,s for example can he have liver etc.? I’ve looked a supplements for him now he’s a more mature gentleman but he’s extremely picky especially if they smell funky (exactly like his mother) plus we have limited teeth now too so our days of chewing rock hard stuff is long gone sadly so any advice or suggestions would be greatly welcomed. TIA x
Thanks for this recipe. My boys drooled like mad next to me during the preparation.
I baked this in mini muffin pans. The treats fit well in the palm of your hand for training and frozen mini muffins are awesome Kong stuffers…keeps my Vizslas entertained… for little while anyway!
