Finlaystone Trails 🌳
For the last year and a bit, I've only walked Potiphar and Perfect when needed, which really wasn't that much. But they have now returned full time, and I'm very glad about that. Potiphar and Perfect joined a lunch walk at Finlaystone with my own dog Brodie and Minnie the whippet.
Potiphar and Perfect have been part of the BDWS family for many years. I walked their owner's previous dogs, Wilfred and Chilli, who have since passed. Potiphar has just turned 11 and is nearly blind—he can't produce tears—and recently he hasn't always been keen on walks. But with the company of his friends, he's much more willing to come out for a walk. He can still see a bit and uses his nose to guide himself along just fine.
Perfect is coming up for two years old. One of her best friends is Minnie the whippet, and they have a ball together.
Today, instead of sticking to the usual routes, I decided to go where the mood took me. I found a couple of small paths I hadn't walked in years, which was a nice surprise—heavy plant coverage, off the beaten path. They led us down to a stream and waterfall, where the dogs could stop for a drink.
Finlaystone was beautifully quiet today compared to how it's been all summer. Rain was forecast for the afternoon, and with schools going back tomorrow after the summer break, it should be a lot quieter from now on.
Here are some photos from the walk...
